Hi, All! I'm Evan Drexl, and I'm a 38-year-old practicing attorney from San Diego, CA. I'm trying to refocus my life toward more positive and productive pursuits, rather than fighting battles for other people, and arguing over every insignificant detail for the rest of my life. So, in my spare time I'm trying to learn how to make games and web video content. I'm currently trying to learn Game Maker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, and I'd like to move up to Unity eventually. Technology has really given independent developers like me the ability to develop great content with an army of one. The first game I'm (seriously) working on is called "My Tiny Happy Kingdom", a strategy/simulation game. I'm also working on an animated web series called "Small Business", which I'm producing in Illustrator and Flash. It's based in part on my experiences in practicing law as a civil attorney for the last seven years, and my inspiration comes from The Office, The Simpsions, Southpark, the Guild, Code Monkeys, Veep, etc. etc. etc. My progress is slow for both projects because I'm doing everything for both projects myself from writing and design to artwork to coding, to voice acting, and the rest. I see the one-man-band nature of my projects as a new and up-and-coming art form! Projects produced by small development teams or sole developers have a soulfulness that I find lacking in big-budget productions. In fact, I don't even call my work low-budget production; I call it no-budget production! Hopefully I will be able to put an alpha version of My Tiny Happy Kingdom into circulation by the end of 2014, and I hope you will have as fun playing it as I am having in developing it! I'm certainly enjoying exploring all the great work you other independent developers have accomplished!
