I've been working with python and the pygame engine for a while. I mostly only use python 2.7.7, and the compatible pygame version. For my dev tools, I use eclipse, siblime text 2, IDLE(sometimes), LXTerm, Notepad++, and some other various things(like Pygame2exe to make your life easier)
