I was first introduced to the 'Gaming Universe' back in 2003 when my mother bought me a cheap run-of-the-mill computer running on a Windows XP operating system. She had a computer technician install a few games for me, all of which failed to execute except for one game, and that one game was the root of it all, The House of The Dead II.
The House of The Dead II is a light gun arcade game with a horror theme and the second game in the The House of The Dead series. It was developed by SEGA for video arcades in 1998 and later ported to the Dreamcast and Microsoft Windows.
I started playing The House of The Dead II when I was three to four years old. It was probably my earliest memory of gaming that I can remember. Ironically, my mother was the one who taught me on how to play the game itself when now she could barely remember to lock her iPhone. Probably because it was a point and click shooter game and didn't require any gaming knowledge to begin with.
Looking back, I am very amazed on how a single game can affect you as a person. The House of The Dead II helped me develop my interest in Zombies and my complete adoration to the horror genre of games and movies.
You probably think it wasn't that much, but it felt so nice to be the last kid who wasn't even near to crying when a horror film is being showed but instead watched in curiosity and awe.
But still, even though I can stand violence and gore in games and movies with no difficulty at all. I refuse to play any game with hardcore jumpscares for the rest of my life! That is a no for me! I'd prefer my computer monitor better without a large gaping hole that is proportional to the size of my fist.
Now to present, gaming is considered to a core part of my life. Someday I dream of making YouTube gaming videos as hobby and earn money from it. But hey, i'm only fourteen, I still have a lot of opportunity to fullfil all of my goals.
