Cassian Valerius was born on the world of Talassar, cradle of many great warriors of Ultramar. From his earliest years, he distinguished himself as a soldier of unwavering faith and unmatched discipline. Among the ranks of the Astartes, he became known as one who, even in the direst chaos of battle, retained cold resolve and unbreakable determination.

During the Defense of Cyrathis Prime, it was he, then a sergeant, who held the line against Ork flanking forces, covering the retreat of the last Imperial Guard remnants. For this deed, he received his first purity seals and was recorded in the company’s chronicles.

The Road to the Honor of Ancient

The decisive moment of his career came during the Draconis Reach Campaign, when the IV Company, under Marius’ command, stood against the Tyranids. When the company standard was struck down by a bioplasma blast, Valerius – then a veteran – took it up and fought, wielding a bolter in one hand and the standard in the other.

His actions inspired courage in his brothers and, at a critical moment, turned the tide of battle. It was then that Captain Titus Marius entrusted him with the honor of carrying the Fourth Company’s Standard – a symbol of honor, tradition, and Ultramar’s unbroken loyalty.

The Banner of Glory

The banner borne by Valerius is known as Aquilum Resolutio – the Eagle of Perseverance. It is stitched with golden thread, adorned with laurels of victory and inscriptions of battles in which the IV Company proved its valor. Each new campaign adds another verse of triumph.

During the operation to reclaim Sigma Crucible from the Necrons, Cassian Valerius marched alongside Captain Titus Marius. The banner flew high even as waves of undying xenos warriors broke upon the defensive lines. His presence was a beacon of hope – a reminder that the Imperium would never yield.
