What if Joy worked better on women?

Because on (iirc) 3 occasions of women turning into mutants (Nancy, Amy and Sweetheart)

They were all noticeably larger than male mutants

(To put into perspective, Amy is bigger than sitting Big Paulie)

Studying the SOTWS database and eventing and I had a thought:
Shouldn't sparing any enemy lower your inf. counter? Because Daniel Grind says that the kills have to be both senseless and consecutive, and sparing an enemy intentionally should break that.
