Colsplay in Marvel
Making my first harness was difficult with no guidance. I’ve mentioned the custom H harness and the backpack setups, they are better. This is just shared for historic reference.
The repulsor knows when it has been lifted and flipped. It makes appropriate sound effects for each.
My gloves used in my armor were these. Work gloves with a printed shell. One palm an ordinary light ring, the other a transplant from a motion activated toy.
My Mk 45 hand covers. They work best as a strap connected to the palm. Make sure it is elastic or has some give so you can flip your hand up.
My Mk 45 upper arms. A sleeve system or buckle hangers work best for holding these to the suit or body suit. I used magnets, they were ok but not ideal.
Mk 45 collars. It is actually better to make a backpack or a rig to hang on your shoulders.
Forearms are pretty straight forward. The lights you see are EL wire, I’ll use them much more later in the suit. They are AC powered which adds some fun to your wire harness.
I started to just make the gloves that came with the suit but mine weren’t comfortable. I found a video Frank had explaining the palms he uses. https://youtu.be/wmahlhs6iQU I tried my hand at smoothing them in Blender first without moving any edge vertices.
While we’re talking about Iron Man gloves, this is a good time to show my newer hinge setup. Making Rescue Mk 49 gloves.
Iron Man cosplay armor gloves are the hardest part to scale. Be ready to spend time on these. You may make several sets before you are happy.
