The Beacon
The Beacon is a community for users to spread awareness on current important situations. This community is not exclusively for conflicts, but also for important news and “Please be careful with this thing” posts, besides more stupid news if labeled as such.
Rules (All channels)
Post the biggest amount of evidence you can to back up claims.
Please, post images, screenshots, videos, links of any person who also saw it or any other type of evidence to back up your claims. Posts without evidence will be removed.
When needed, use Content Warnings for posts.
If your post includes potentially distressing material (such as sexual assault, violence or abuse), please, write the following text as the title of the post (replacing the square brackets and any text inside it with the list of potentially distressing material your post includes) and post it on the channel “Content Warning”:
“Content Warning: This post contains potentially distressing material, including [insert topics here].”
Hate speech is not allowed here.
Any content that promotes discrimination, disparagement, bigotry, or violence against protected groups (based on race, religion, gender, orientation, disability or others) will result in the user who posted it to be blocked in this community and in the post being removed from this community.
No Doxxing or posting one’s Personal Information is allowed here.
Never post private information (addresses, phone numbers, private social media accounts, etc.) of individuals. Doing so will result in an immediate ban.
No sensationalism is allowed here.
Do not exaggerate a situation. Be as neutral as possible.
No graphic or gory media is allowed here.
Graphic violence is not allowed here. If you want to explain a situation, use descriptive text here instead.
Post things in the right channels.
According to the channel’s name, post on the channel your post fits the best. If it has a content warning, it must go to the Content Warning channel.
Other rules will be adapted over time.
