the gamejolt client is a great way to extract files especially .7z files. I made a game that takes a while to extract but with the gamejolt client takes less time to extract so I recommended to people to use the extractor. ive been uploading a lot. at first the game file to download was 2 gb. by deleting and learning how to compress I got it down to 913mb. the only problem is downloads went from 12 megabytes to 200 kilobytes. I doubt the game itself will make money but at least downloading the game doesnt have to be a net loss for gamejolt so it can afford to make the download faster.

Hey there! I download speeds should be max always. If it's not, it usually indicates something is wrong. It may also be a little slower the first time a file is downloaded before it becomes "hot" on our CDN. It shouldn't drop down to 200kbps, though.

Are you able to try again in a couple hours and see if it's still the same slow speed for you?

i pause and resumed a second time and the download speed jumped up. thank you. I still think this makes sense though. Im not entirely sure what the purpose of not showing ads on downloadable games in the client is.
