Great Idea But Very Glichy
Note: This is my game prototype, game jam, and experimental account. For full-featured games, visit my company account for Alkterios Games: http://gamejolt.com/profile/alkterios-games/362925/
This is the third prototype for Zen Danni. I have added a new stealth mechanic. I also have added a level that shows how the mechanics can work together to solve various puzzles.
I am interested in finding out if the mechanics are enjoyable and if you can see potential. As I state in the game's disclaimer, this isn't polished, so please judge it based on the potential. I am planning on turning this into a full-featured game for both Game Jolt and Wii U (which will be an enhanced edition with more mechanics added after I release the Game Jolt version). Do you think that this has potential as a final product?
Personally, I am not fond of how the mechanics work together. For example, I feel you can accomplish the same thing with both the stealth and block mechanic (that is, sneak past enemies). Maybe I should punish the player more if they try to sneak past enemies using the block mechanic? Maybe I need to make a new mechanic altogether at the cost of another mechanic? I do think that there should be multiple ways to solve problems, but I am not fond of mechanics that essentially accomplish the same thing.
Further, I have thought of adding a mechanic where you can use a grappling hook instead of summoning blocks. You can aim and swing a la games like Spider-Man 2. I feel like that would be more emotionally gratifying for players. Any other thoughts?
