After the chilling legacy of Sonic: El Pendrive Azul, another disturbing tale has surfaced — this time surrounding a forgotten Mario title.

On March 21st, 2015, Mari0 was set for official release — a seemingly classic version inspired by traditional Mario games, featuring familiar music and nostalgic design.

Then came the leak.

A user released the 2011 beta build.

What they didn’t realize was that the beta wasn’t part of the official development cycle — it was a stolen prototype from a hidden internal project.

Despite its polished appearance, subtle anomalies began to emerge: unsettling background shifts, cryptic messages embedded in levels, and character behavior that deviated from the norm.

Most dismissed it as an innocent early build.

They were wrong.

And now...

A 19-year-old boy who played that leaked version

took his own life the very next day.

The game has since been publicly released...
