If this game doesn't get to top 4 I'd be sad
That is a really cool concept i havent seen before. Asynchronous multiplayer is a very unique idea this jam (you can blame me to i dont even have any multiplayer).
Even though the concept is cool there are some problems in the execution: The shield-barriers dont stay long enough so that you cant place them strategically. I think the best strategiy is to just draw them on top of the asteroids about to hit you and that feels a bit like those old flash 'click the target' games (but you cant just click as you have to drag the mouse a bit afterwards).
The art style is a bit inconsistent i feel. You have this interlacing stripe background but also pixel art and the pixels arent 'real' as they scale and rotate also different fonts.
What i really like is the 'near-collision' bonus as it encourages risky manouvers. I think with a bit more vision it would be even better.
TLDR: Unique and brave concept that is a bit rough around the edges - i liked to play it
