Honest review:
I don't feel like this added much. It was mainly adding new rooms, and making tasks much longer than they needed to be, at least in CH1.
On my first playthrough I could NOT find the record, and it was a headache going through everything. I recomened adding new PUZZLES to CH1 instead, maybe having a specific puzzle to find a specific item?
I also was NOT able to beat CH2, and I had to look at a playthrough someone made to see that you just have to walk past the searchers??? even though when I did that I died??? and everything else in the game has taught you that when you encounter searchers you gotta fully kill them in order to progress?????????
it just doesn't make any sense.
Also, I don't appreciate the AI voicelines for Henry, but I realize there aren't many other options if you want new voicelines.
The best way I can summarise is that it feels like a misunderstanding of the original game and what makes it good. It's not how big the studio is, it's the puzzles that require that space, and how they're easy to solve, but feel rewarding once you solve them!
So, yeah, not one of my favourite fangames.
I can tell it took a while to do this, as it takes me AGES to make maps, code, etc. Good job either way!
Pretty neat! Got a few issues tho:
Everything's expanded but there's not much new gameplay, so the expanded areas just kinda unnecessarily make the gameplay longer.
The inkwell hitbox in Chapter 1 is kinda finicky.
Nothing tells you to go to the infirmary in Chapter 2.
The Chapter 2 end chase wasn't very clear on what you were supposed to do.
Still, this is cool!
To be honest, this is the worst Bendy fan game I've ever played.
I have nothing against you or your projects, but the state of the game that was shown does not match the quality of even the original two chapters.
I didn't like how you stretched out Chapter 1 in the most primitive way possible. The searching in the first chapter is simply unbearable. The sheer number of new rooms adds absolutely nothing to the gameplay.
The first chapter, released in 2017 (the one you're basing your game on), was small but essentially helped the player understand what to expect from the game going forward. Unfortunately, the first chapter in your modification doesn't have the same effect. Even despite this being an attempt to recreate the early alphas and old assets, it comes across as an attempt to cash in on fans' nostalgia.
I don't want to disappoint you, but you need to rework at least a large part of the game.
Chapter 2 suffers even more from the number of unnecessary rooms, because 90% of the new rooms aren't used properly. The chase scene with Bendy in Chapter 2 felt out of place and very strange — that was my breaking point, and I just quit the game after that. I would advise polishing the game to a perfect state and removing the extra rooms or those that hinder the gameplay. I hope further development goes much better. Good luck, and thank you for reading.
Already know it's gonna be good
finally it comes out tonight
Alpha Reborn PC
Alpha Reborn Android
Bendy and the Ink Machine Alpha Reborn is the worthy successor to Alpha Returns, a remaster that improves everything: puzzles, rooms, decorations, animations, and more from the Bendy and the Ink Machine Alpha.
It's essentially the Alpha version of Bendy and the Ink Machine, but expanded and enhanced, like a Chapter 2 if they kept the essence of the Alpha.
