10/10 best mod ever

i have high expectations, dont let me down

is it optimized so people dont lag because it has around 240 u said so it might bee really laggy so please niko optimize

Mod includes:

  • For now around 250 fish, including some fish from the first part of Cave Expansion (which is a huge amount, almost as much as the original game has from what I remember)

  • Many new areas, including a few from the first part of Cave Expansion

...and much more


(The mod cant be fully made yet, because the game is now unmoddable on newest versions, so we are mainly focusing on making art, not code. We're hoping that the update on july 27 or 28th will give us the moddable branch or maybe we'll get it a little bit later.)

When the mod will release?


Alright, so when the moddable branch releases it should take approximately 4 months for the mod to come out and thats my plan for the coding, map and coding related stuff:

  • first, we're doing the upper half of the map(aka. The Distant Shore area), and coding most of the decorations for the entire map.

  • after that we work on the decorations that need more work to code

  • after that we make the rest of the map, area by area, after every area is finished we add most of the fish that inhabit a certain area - first, all fish for the distant shore and then for every area we finish, we add simple fish that use mechanics that are already in game and music for certain 2 or 3 areas

  • now, we should be around 2 months into development(school may slow down the process) and now we do more advanced stuff like hats and a few rod upgrades

  • and finally, the cherry on top - i code in the fish with complex and unique mechanics and behaviour and work on bug fixes

  • and around a few weeks before the release, we should be done and starting to fix bugs, maybe do some playtesting and by the time the mod releases, it should be polished and optimized quite well

On august 6th we'll be celebrating the first anniversary of CEM2. On that day, I'll share a lot of info about the mod.

Honestly, I feel bad about the long wait for the mod, even tho it's not my fault. All we can do is wait for the mod branch to release.

but i forgot to leak another fish like I always do. And I don't really remember if i leaked it or not already but here it is! Meet Kim. It's a basic medium fish with no description or anything like that yet. Not much to say about him.

Alright, guys. I didn't say anything about the mod recently, so I just wanted to tell you all that basically it turns out that my version of moddable branch based on the gamma branch isn't enough, so I guess we're back to waiting for the moddable branch.

Guys, I come with GREAT news. I had enough of the wait for the moddable branch so I decided to make it myself. The mod development not including art officially started yesterday. The mod is now officially in the making! Stay tuned for more info!
