Eight Nights in Purgatory is a cutting-edge graphical fnaf fan game made by a stable yet inexperienced development team composed by 5 people.
Half team left due to aberrant working hours with unpaid overtime but in the end, the “hard” work was finally done.
Eight Nights in Purgatory started development in 2013 in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 but then in 2022 after the game reached 1% completion, we decided to switch to Unreal Engine 5 just 5 seconds after the launch of the engine as the transition to a more advanced engine would differ the game from others in the genre, such as increased realism and reinventing everything from the in-game goals to the ways we approach the quality of the game mechanics.
Then we returned to Clickteam Fusion 2.5 because no one actually understand Unreal Engine 5. Then there's was a sight lack of competent management and effective decision making combined with too much ambition. all of this ultimately leading to a lot of useless work being produced by inexperienced developers. eventually when crunch hits the only way to finish the game was to cut everything that wasn't desperately needed such as a completely innovative custom night that was pretty much the sole reason we made this game.
But at least we finished beta testing the game just 5 seconds ago before even though it looks like an early access of an Half-Baked, buggy, misleadingly advertised and massively overhyped fnaf fan game. (we spent 3 years making prototypes in Godot and pitching ideas for new fan games instead of developing the game)
