About game:
A local ice-cream shop “Dairy Sunshine” (DS) needs to raise awareness in the area about ice-cream products to attract more patrons. By exploring elements of “gamification” to incentivise brand loyalty, DS aims to entice customers by discount coupons they can redeem at the store for free ice cream. DS has requested a game prototype that can later be incorporated into mobile ordering apps and the DS website in the form of an “I Spy” game.
To install this game, you must unzip the folder and paste it into your desired destination, next, open the folder and run the jar file. Do not mess with the images or audio files or the game will not run. You can create a shortcut for the jar file into your desktop and put the folder somewhere else if you don't want to see the folder.
Note: this game is the resultant final project of my ICS4U (Grade 12 Computer Science) course.
How to play:
You must find the button that has an ice cream image icon on it. Once you find this button, the images will randomly reload onto different buttons using the Fisher Yates algorithm, and you must find the button with ice cream once again. This process will repeat.
There is also a timer. When starting the game, you will have 45 seconds to find the ice cream button. If you don't get 50 or more points, you will be directed to the game over screen. There is also a life system, consisting of three lives. If you don’t click on the right button, you will lose a life. If you lose all 3 lives, you will lose.
If you get 50 points, you can get a small ice cream with a flavour of your choice. With 55 points, you can get an ice cream sundae. With 60 points, you can get a funnel cake. With 70 points, you’ll get an ice cream birthday cake.
