I have beaten night 5. This game honestly doesn't have anything that's all that interesting in my eyes, both mechanically and visually.
The gameplay mainly consists of mechanics where "character appears so just press this specific button that has absolutely no risk or long-term consequences tied to it to immediately delete them." This ends up making the gameplay boring and pretty shallow. There is no strategy other than flipping between two cameras and pressing the two buttons you have. Not even the boss fight escapes this - the "strategy" is the exact same. I'm thankful that the nights are shorter than usual, but that doesn't really fix the problem. The game really needed strong long-term mechanics/consequences to allow for strategy and interaction. New Game + doesn't make a ton of sense to me because it just appears to be nights 1-5 but more evil or something.
The visual design is never really used to its advantage, nor the audio design. The characters are uninteresting but they really could have been presented way better, likewise with the whole visual filter.
Overall this game is just bland. I recommend getting ahold of some quality playtesters if you would like to get good feedback before release. Good feedback is invaluable.
I wish you luck with your future projects.
they done made feeding freddy evil
Thanks for making this, it's quite fun! The camera scrolling is very satisfying lol
awesome game and what did you use for the 8 bit sounds i try use bit crusher in audacity and it doesn't sound 8 bit to me i don't know if you use that
All Custom Night Challenges Conquered (besides Max Mode which is prob impossible)
I honestly quite like the visuals of the game, as they are kinda unique and the animatronic design further helps out... But the gameplay, as everyone else has mentioned, is quite awful.
Out of 8 cameras only 3 of them get a use and are worth checking out.
The AI levels remain quite low even in NG+ Night 5, which should probably be the hardest challenge in the game, not counting Custom Night challenges, but is a cakewalk.
I think it'd be neat for New Game Plus to have some extra animatronics, like an AMIREAL inspired animatronic (appear in a random camera and you must stare at them so they leave), or a Springtrap of sorts, something new to make NG+ feel more special than merely "Freddy joins the others in Nights 4 and 5 but they're still pretty easy" lol...
This is just a suspicion, but the animatronics FEEL like their movement timers have their AI level in the equation or something, which feels like a horrible way to cause early nights to feel boring and non-eventful and Max Mode to be impossible (as it, most likely, is in this game, as a few test runs have led me to determine.)
The Alarm Bell has a really high cooldown which is fine for almost every single night but for Max Mode just means its impossible to survive, specifically because if Freddy goes to Camera 4 while Chica is at Camera 8 it basically becomes impossible for you to survive (even more with Bonnie, who for some reason loves to enter the room as your Alarm Bell is about to recharge, so h eeffectively blue balls you, for a lack of better term.)
I honestly think that a Recode of the game with some more complex and fair mechanics, higher AI values for the animatronics, and additional animatronics for NG+ would probably do wonders to the potential this game has.
Overall, good game and I really like the look you went for, but the gameplay could be very vastly improved.
Please get some feedback from playtesting and such, it'd greatly improve your next games!!!
