What do you think?

The game kept me on my toes for the most part, but once I lost battery it just kinda felt like "where's the monster to kill me already, I'm tired of being lost in the dark." I think a good idea would be to store batteries away rather than a new battery just tops you off, especially since I found 3 batteries very close to each other which basically made me waste 2. I understand you want to try and conserve battery power but for a game this dark it kind of takes away the fun factor for me once the flashlight dies. It didn't feel scary anymore after that, just annoying. A good idea to maybe not remove the fun would maybe be like once you run out of battery, the flashlight is very flickery and maybe even dimmed. The player can still see a little and the flicker can add to the horror aspect. The last thing I wanted to mention, was that it feels very clunky to walk backwards. Almost like the camera and the player are moving out of sync. I don't know if it was just a bug, a graphics problem, or something else, but it kinda limited mobility. pretty good game. i like hiding from the monsters in different cells. you may wanna put maps throughout the prison, because i never found the control room.

I can't get the game to start. It's saying there a missing dll and to reinstall. I did and it's still saying the same thing.

Well, let's see how many endings it has. Shall we. ;P

You wake up in an isolation cell, confused, you try to make sense of why you're there. It quickly becomes apparent that despite the facility being desolate. You're anything but alone.

What could you have done to deserve this cruel and unusual punishment? Who or what is responsible? It's time to escape the clutches of this bizarre and unnerving situation, if you can.

Please read the following information (For Build info, please read bottom of description):

  • The monster has a random patrol route, however, if it sees you, it will run to you.

  • If you turn your flashlight on towards the monster, it will notice, and run to you.

  • There are a few traps in the game set by the monster, be cautious.

  • Items such as notes, batteries, key card, and certain hiding objects are procedurally spawned.

  • There are also map hints that procedurally spawn throughout the level allowing the player to check map size.

  • There is a HUD, which shows stamina, flashlight power, and amount of batteries collected. Nightmare mode has no HUD except for when you collect keycard.

  • Pause menu offers graphic settings options.

The game has three possible endings, with one ending presenting itself should you acquire certain items.

// Technical Details

  • All footstep sounds (Except monster and water) were recorded by me

  • Some audio is used from Cry of Fear

  • Outside nature ambience (Not wind) was recorded in my neighbour-hood.

  • All models were built by me (Grass pack and freebie trees were not, but are credited in-game).

  • A portion of textures were captured using my phone, converted into 2 - 1k resolution textures and modified using gimp.

  • The outside forest area background uses a real height-map of my city (which is modified to suit the level).

  • IMPORTANT! The raw version will have a significantly higher storage size, but is more optimized, has very quick loading screens (Depending on users hardware) and less prone to bugs.

  • IMPORTANT! The minified version has 1/3 the storage space as the raw version, but has longer loading times and may have performance drops.

If you plan to upload game-play videos, I recommend installing the RAW BUILD of Imprisoned.
