What do you think?

it's complicated.

i absolutely loved nearly everything about this demo. from presentation to soundtrack to scares (yes, an fnf creepypasta mod that actually scared me partially), lullaby is a goddamn masterpiece. the problem is actually playing it.

i don't dislike the gameplay of lullaby as much as i really wish there were more options for accessibility with the gimmicks, that or leeway. there is baby mode (we're really still poking fun at players for turning off gimmicks in the big 2026?) but it's terrible and doesn't work, either as a bug or as an intentional joke. you can keep it in, of course, but a way to mitigate or disable the gimmicks would be much appreciated for people like me who suck dookie at more involved gimmicks that absorb the player's attention.

i can do safety lullaby's gimmick fine, i understood really quick the best way to handle it, but it is a prime example of multitasking in a rhythm game where that is a pain in the ass to do. pressing space while trying to hit the notes was so hard i had to press it with the side of my thumb to do it consistently, which was, in fact, a little painful.

monochrome is probably more manageable, to make up for the song's length there are only a few typing segments, i think around 5, but i cannot read unown and it dampered my experience. on some phrases i had to pause my game during each typing segment to look up the first letter so i could understand the rest of the sentence, which worked, but not always, and i was prone to running out of time or messing up the rest of the word. this is i think the main reason i would advise a gimmick toggle or mitigation in a patch.

as for chimera, yeah no that's the best song in the mod on all fronts. monochrome is probably better as a song but as an experience, chimera is better than entire mods with how visually and atmospherically uncomfortable it is, and the gameplay is amazing. my only complaint is a lack of clarity for the second half of the song. the quick time event portion is fine, it could use some more clarity with the instructions but otherwise i managed, but the heartbeat has no instructions. i quickly picked up that you had to use the space bar, which made sense to me considering how safety lullaby worked, but the song preview doesn't have any hints either it just says "be prepared for anything special", which doesn't really tell me anything.

i was in an fnf chat staying up for like four hours to see what everyone thought of it and most of it was negative or mixed over gameplay or optimisation, which i think was reasonable. i was upset, a mod i was hyped for immediately getting dunked on doesn't do well for an autistic who's easy to stress, but after playing the mod i did sort of get why the gameplay and performance was a concern. i have a very good pc so the latter wasn't a huge deal for me, but i do hope more precautions are taken in the future for player accessibility.

i overall did love this thing from start to end, i really did, but i did want to be honest about the weird little problems and quirks it had, because there were quirks. with that said the collector was the best part of the mod, i'm building a shrine to him.

Cool demo... Im still cracking the Hex Maniac

love how half of the demo is just bullshit

I'd say "wow this is amazing, I love the art direction, and while the voice acting is a bit down there, everything is presented beautifully"
I CAN'T GET PAST STUPID SAFETY LULLABY BECAUSE THE ONLY THING I CAN PROPERLY USE IS THE PENDULUM
the mechanic of the pendulum has not changed since the original, however the Keybind settings are absolutely ABYSMALL, disgusting.
the fact you can only have one set of Keybinds truly hurts me to the core and makes trying to beat the song feel like TORTURE.
(PS, baby mode randomly stops working, Downscroll puts baby mode dialogue sometimes, and you have to sit through EVERYTHING when you fail or exit a song.)

when I download on gamebanana for macbook when i try to open it it keeps on saying that its damaged and it cant be opened can someone help with this??
