Nsala Liberation

Version: 1.4.37 days ago

Experience a unique African adventure game replete with engaging challenges and puzzles. Nsala Liberation combines both openworld exploration with more linear dungeons. If you are a fan of the Legend of Zelda this game is for you.

In this journey, you follow the tale of the eccentric witch Lanoa Lumumba. Travel with her across the land to free slaves and search for her family who were taken by powerful Mashetani spirits.

Initially released in 2014 on a now archived website, Nsala Liberation is quite possibly the first African video game to ever truly take inspiration from the African arts and cultures south of the Sahara.

The anniversary edition of the game is now on Game Jolt please enjoy this new and improved version which has new areas to explore, spells to cast, items to find, and more ways to reduce the difficulty so that more players can enjoy this epic journey.

I think I figured out the Unzipping problem. If you unzip the file while its still in the Download folder it works fine. But if you move the zip file to a folder before unzipping it, problems arise. Strange issue but that's the solution.

When I upload my game online, I download it myself to make sure it will work for you. This time I had an issue unzipping the file but I simply downloaded it again and the unzipping process worked fine. So, if you get the same issue, download it again.

A small update is now available! Your save files can be easily transferred by simply copying your old save files into the new game's folder. The most note worthy change is in some improved dialog between Lanoa and Rawjal in the latter half of the game.

Nsala Liberation is more than 10 years old. It's original home site is no longer functional. Here are some archives of the OG versions of the game.

The final build of the game has just been uploaded. That said, I plan to still do yet another playtest post upload just to be careful and also because I want to film a walkthrough video for Youtube. Have fun!
