Fix the game now!!
I enjoy this game so far, hope that more content gets added in the future.
i wish 1-1 and 1-2 were like the original
Welcome to a near remake of the Plants vs Zombies Nintendo DS game!
By the time this game is finished, it will play very similarly to the original Plants vs Zombies, although with a few aesthetic tweaks.
The current build of this game currently only features the first level, 1-1. However, an endless mode is also available by pressing on MORE, with the first 5 plants unlocked and a few different zombies to face.
How to Play
For those unfamiliar with the gameplay of Plants vs Zombies…
Use your various plants, all with unique properties, to defend your lawn and brains against waves of zombies in a grid-Tower Defence format.
Sun is your main currency, falling from the sky and generated by Sunflowers every so often. Every plant has a set Sun cost, so the more Sun you collect, the more you can plant! Plants also have set recharge speeds, meaning you must wait in-between planting the same kind of seeds.
Zombies will spawn periodically, eating any plant in its way. Use your plants to fight against the undead, chipping away at their health until they die for good. However, if your defence is breached, have no fear, for a column of lawnmowers will protect you from death only once for each lane.
Controls
Click/tap to interact with different buttons. Yep, that's it! Just don't try dragging plants, cos it won't work. Therefore, this game is also (somewhat) mobile-compatible on browser.
Controllers are also supported (no console needed!). Press the home button on your controller in the Main Menu to activate, and see here for those detailed inputs.
Coming Eventually...
The 'finished build' of this game will feature every single plant and zombie from the original Plants vs Zombies game, as well as every single level and (some/most) minigames.
It will also contain local Versus Mode and Co-op Mode, allowing those without consoles or emulators to experience the thrill of PvZ 2-player!
Credits
Of course, thank you to PopCap for creating the original PvZ game(s)! All the sprites, sound effects and music in this game were created by them for their own official franchise, and since I suck at any form of sprite art, I merely ripped the assets from those games.
As for how I got said assets, a lot is from the Spriters Resource and Sounds Resource (thank you to the rippers there), although I also personally ripped quite a bit from my own emulated copy of PvZ DS. The music, I just got from YouTube.
Game Info
For fun, this game was created using Scratch (block-coding), although much assisted by the TurboWarp engine. You can view the game on Scratch here.
As this is strictly a fan-game, I am not looking to generate any monetary profit from this. If I'm ever motivated to create a similar, legitimate game, it'd have no connection to the PvZ franchise whatsoever.
For more information about this game, go view the Google Doc where I've listed almost everything there is to know about it.
