Imagine: Every World Cup has a special meaning in everyone’s life because each one comes with memories of a different part of your life and those memories will stick with you and give it a different taste, and you’ll be able to remember every single World Cup in details for the rest of your life.

To an ordinary kid, this could mean the world.

Meet Tristan. A kid in love with the sport, a footballer in the making. His dream of participating in the World Cup someday and becoming a landmark footballer of his generation is cut short by an unforeseen injury.

He bought a ticket and this time he will enjoy it from the stands with his friends.

But what happens when an unknown force gives him a new chance to fulfill his dream before is to late?

It may be said with a degree of assurance that not everything that meets the eye is as it appears.

A wicked witch steals everybody tickets and the World Cup trophy and casts a spell on the players turning them into cute pets.

Now, she's organizing her own World Cup of horrors, and it’s on Tristan to handle the challenges she has devised.

Will Tristan be able to face all the dangers ahead of him, recover his ticket and participate in the World Cup like he always wanted?

The Road to the World Cup is made by a 3 person team. An action adventure 2D platformer game with World Cup theme, submission for World Cup 2022 Jam.

Made with Gdevelop 5 engine. All characters and assets (except for music) are made from scratch and within the game jam time frame.
