It's based on them, but it's not canon - it's a fan game.

The game was inspired by Sonic.exe The Disaster 2D Remake, as well as the original Disaster and OM.
IMPORTANT!
Sonic.exe Through the Nightmare is NOT an add-on to any of these games and is a completely independent project.
The authors of the sprites and music in the game are mentioned.
This game is being made by a newcomer and is not capable of competing with something like Sonic.exe The Disaster 2D Remake and Sonic.exe The Disaster Redux.
So don't expect anything fancy from the author; the game doesn't receive any financial support and is being made by a fan for the same fans of Jayz games.
