Sonic Advance.EXE is a fan-made horror modification of the Game Boy Advance game Sonic Advance. Instead of being the usual colorful platformer, the game is reimagined with the dark and unsettling theme of the Sonic.exe creepypasta.
In this version, Sonic is replaced with his corrupted, demonic counterpart Sonic.exe, and other characters like Tails, Knuckles, and Amy appear in enslaved or possessed forms. The game isn’t just a simple sprite swap — it adds a creepy atmosphere, disturbing visuals, and a horror twist to the original Sonic gameplay.
It’s often shared on Game Jolt, where fangames are hosted, and is presented as a mix between a classic GBA Sonic experience and the unsettling Sonic.exe story.
Story:
Everything began like a normal adventure in Sonic Advance. The heroes—Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy—were once again racing through Green Hill–style stages, unaware of the darkness watching them.
But something was different this time.
The colors of the world seemed… wrong. The music was slower, distorted, as if the cartridge itself had been cursed.
When Sonic.exe appeared, he wasn’t just another enemy. He was the game itself. His eyes, black and bleeding with red pupils, stared directly at the player. He had already taken control of Sonic, turning him into his puppet.
One by one, the others fell:
Tails tried to escape, but the laughter of Sonic.exe followed him until his life was consumed.
Knuckles fought back, but his strength was useless against the endless void.
Amy screamed for help, her voice muffled by static as the screen bled red.
Now the player has no choice but to witness their fates. Every stage becomes a twisted reflection of the original game, filled with corrupted sprites, broken physics, and an inescapable presence.
You are no longer playing Sonic Advance.
You are trapped inside Sonic Advance.EXE.
And Sonic.exe is waiting.
