In the game, Color is earned.
The game is based in a world where magic is everything. Everyone has some sort of magical ability surrounding one of the 5 color-coordinated elements. (Orange - Fire | Yellow - Air | Green - Nature | Blue - Water | Purple - Lightning) The Purity of your Magic determines your possible skill, life positions, and even social ranking. This Purity test happens once every year for kids of the age of 16, and the brighter your color is, the more skill you have.
But, what happens when it shows Pitch Black.
