What do you think?

Thanks Carce for trying it out :) What were some of the problems you encountered with the game?
I have gone and refined things quite a bit, and fixed a couple errors that were missed initially. Any info helps make the game better!

Very nice and fun game. Good looking retro graphics. One of those rare games that work how they should. Of course there are GM problems but thats it...

Hi roboguy, I'm glad you liked what you've tried so far! I have updated the file, so now jumping should be a little bit easier than the previous versions. If you get some time, give the new one a shot:)

Superb. I haven't had the opportunity to play much but I like what I've seen so far, bookmarking...

Thanks ExtraMedicated, it was heavily influenced by the old Metroid games. Although poo-flinging monkeys are pretty funny, I do think gun-totin' monkeys are far cooler:) Glad you liked the game so far!

Storyline:

A magical artifact has been stolen from an ancient Mayan temple on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. It is your solemn duty to retrieve the artifact and defeat the dirty bird who stole it; Horatio Hawk!

General Info:

This is a beta/demo version of a retro inspired exploration platformer. There 3.5 levels to play through (4 levels, 3 bosses, as the first level is a short one), and plenty of items scattered throughout each level. Not to mention enemies coming out of the woodwork!

The controls are explained to you at different stages throughout the game, but the basics are:

Arows to run, roll, jump and swim

A button to lift/throw small blocks

S button to shoot your weapon

D button to lay a bomb

Spacebar to select a different acquired weapon

P to pause/unpause

Q to bring up the quit dialogue box

Special Items:

There are plenty of items to seek out in the game; keys, treasure chests, shiny relics and even extra lives! Try to collect as many coins as you can, because you'll be rewarded with an extra life when you do. Same goes for the relics, for every five that you discover, you'll earn another life. The game does get tougher as you progress, so the more lives, the better!
