Atmos Vessel

I'm not rating this because it does not feel done. You have the gameplay, but you don't have any graphics, menu, directions, music, proper sounds, or anything. At most, you have a prototype. I'll break it down quickly for you.

Gameplay: The strongest point, but don't let that fool you: it needs work. You press a key to go up, but the movement is at the perfect speed that no skill is required to stay at a constant height. The obstacles are evenly spaced, and thus repetitive and dull. Half of your screen is wasted: your ship is in the center, and the only meaningful information is the obstacle approaching on the right half of the screen. You don't reward the player for anything, not even a high score. I have no reason to play again. The game is slow and unrewarding. I can't pause. I can fly upwards and then explode: that makes no sense.

Graphics: What graphics? You have gray, black, and a ship. The explosion is Game Maker's built-in particle effect, as is the ship's particle. It looks like a proof-of-concept. With that extra wasted half a screen, you could put a score or you could put a fancy particle effect. You could use some sort of background that actually shows the atmosphere you're telling me is there.

Sound: There is no pause between runs, so if I leave the game open in another tab, I hear the terribly placed sound repeatedly. The sound effect for the ship exploding isn't an explosion, it is more akin to the sound when an enemy gets hurt. There is no sound effect for flying upwards.

Music: There is no music.

Directions: People don't read the descriptions. A tutorial and explanation of the situation would be helpful.

Anything: If it's an experiment, or proof-of-concept, say it in the description so people less nice than me are less likely to zero-bomb you. If nobody reads the description to play, nobody will read the game feed for commenting.
