I beat layer 4. This game, visually, is well made, but gameplay-wise very boring. Each night is ten minutes long which is too long especially when every mechanic added is very simple and don't add much to the gameplay. Layers 1-2 leave a bad impression as an introduction because of this.

My suggestion for improving the game in the simplest way would be to make each night six minutes and remove layer 1-2 and just introduce those mechanics together with the layer 3 mechanic, and bump up the frequency of characters. Even then, I wouldn't say it'd be an amazing experience because the mechanics are just "character appears, do specific easy thing to remove them immediately without any risk," therefore there is no long-term affects of actions.

This game's visuals were pretty nice, and the mechanics were pretty straightforward; although, it was a bit tedious to go through the layers. ,,, I was on layer 4 and it lasted for so long that when I died I just couldnt motivate myself to continue :U this is really good for a stable project though and hope you succeed with future projects ofc !!

Great game although first two nights were very boring and just sitting there nights 3-6 were great especially six although was cheesable but was the best night for sure

You awaken in a place that feels both remembered and forgotten — a nostalgic torment you can barely place.

The air is thick with mould, the sour scent of wet carpet clinging to every breath. Walls of endless yellow hum beneath the flicker of buzzing fluorescent lights. A maze of an empty office space stretches forever, each corner promising nothing but more of the same.

It feels familiar. Too familiar. And yet… not right.

You can’t recall how you arrived here, or what incident pushed you into this half-reality. But deep inside, you know something waits in these halls. Something watching. Something wrong.

There is no exit in sight. Only the creeping certainty that, if you linger too long, you will lose whatever humanity you still have left.

Backrooms: Escape From Reality is a psychological point-and-click survival game set inside a recurring "dream". The longer you stay, the harder it is to remember what reality felt like.

Trapped in a single, looping room within the Backrooms, you must endure a series of nightmarish "dreams," each one more unstable than the last.

You are trapped between reality.

You cannot leave.

You can only survive.

  • Survive for as long as possible, with new rules to learn and unlearn.

  • Dream Logic — Close your eyes to avoid being seen. Use your flash beacon to push back anything that crawls in the darkness.

  • Listen carefully — Sound and instinct are your only tools.

  • Face entities that break the rules of logic and light.

  • Abstract Storytelling — Experience fragmented text scenes that blur the line between the real world and the dream world.

  • Atmospheric Sound — Every noise might be your imagination—or something finding its way closer.
