Alright, let me firstly say, it's definitely an interesting concept. The whole levels changing like the love someone's heart holds can change. So I'll give you that. As for the character, I reaaaaaaally was driven crazy by her from the start, esp because of the singing, but with time, and lack of patience on my part, I've found her less annoying. I think that might have had to do with her dying excessively.
I think the best elaboration possible, is via this video I made of the game, it took me little less than 30m, but as I reached the end, I found that I loved the game even after everything it put me through. https://youtu.be/5uzw-QstAtU Gameplay here.

Cootie Patrootie is a lonely girl who has never been in love. Hearing a fable about a 'Tunnel of Love,' where all love originates from down with the heart of the Earth, she goes on a cootie adventure to find her hearts desire. She finds the cavern of Scribblez Patribblez, and goes in to maybe literally fall in love.
A short (10-30 minute) game made in 22 hours for Ludum Dare 35 (the theme was shape-shifting). Features original spritework, original music, voice acting by myself, and brings you along on an odd tale.
