FYI: This game was made in GameMaker: Studio and uses pixel art as its art style. I am very bad with 3D modeling and do not have the money to hire someone to help me with character designs...
2 months ago your best friend died due to what the police called "a car crash." In his will, he left you his house and everything inside of it. You took this without a second thought thinking there was nothing wrong with the house. You were mistaken. Your friend was secretly a ghost hunter who had angered the wrong spirits and they had inhabited his home. He was investigating the mysterious deaths at a famous burned-down house in the town he was living in. Unfortunately, the spirits did not like him intruding...
When you arrived at the house it was mostly empty, spare for some of the furniture and basic necessities for living. You go upstairs to the bedrooms and notice a cardboard box laying in front of the spare bedroom labeled with your name on it. Believing he had left you a present you open the box only to find a laptop, an HDMI cable, and a flash drive. On the flash drive, there was a note reading, "These files are corrupted, please decrypt them before the spirits delete them forever.
Oblivious to the fact of whether or not this was a prank, you open the guest room and start up the laptop and connect it to the larger monitor on the desk. You plug in the flash drive and the nightmares ensure. How did your friend really die? What are the spirits really trying to hide? Who is "The First One?"
