A fanmade recreation of the 2014 Alpha build of Dark Deception as a free, playable mod for "Dark Deception: Monsters and Mortals." Content ranges from reskins of existing skins, retexturing of maps, changing of music to unused versions, and even things like remodeled Soul Shards to enhance the experience.
NOTE: This mod does NOT change any vital parts of the game mechanics such as hitboxes, health, speed, damage, etc. It only changes the visuals and music to reflect the older builds of Dark Deception, nothing more. As such, this mod is not intended to infringe on Glowstick Entertainment's rights on the game itself and is created out of love for the game, as well as its fanbase. Silent Hill DLC is unaffected by the mod.
How To Install:
— Download the mod and extract the .zip file.
— Open Steam, right click on M&M.
— Go to Manage > Browse local files.
— Search up and copy the directory Dark Deception Monsters & Mortals > DD_MnM > Content > Paks.
— Move the .pak file from the content folder in the DD: Retro Mod extracted folder into Dark Deception Monsters & Mortals > DD_MnM > Content > Paks. Do NOT delete the DD_MnM-Windows.pak file, you need that for the game to work. Simply just drag the Modding.pak file into the Pak folder along with the DD_MnM-Windows.pak file.

As for what's next for the mod, honestly that about wraps it up for now! The next time this mod will be given a major update will be either:
1. Yandere Simulator DLC drops and YanDev is fine with modding for it.
2. Mascot Mayhem becomes available

Dark Deception: Retro Version 3.2.2 has fully released! This includes the Version 3 and 4 content, as well as the Reaper Nurse remodel. Hope you all enjoy! :)
For some history, this model was initially going to be used for Reaper Nurse in base DD, but it was scrapped, updated, and later reused for the Matron boss in Torment Therapy. This'll come with the Version 3&4 update.
Hey guys! The mod's been relatively quiet lately, but it's for a good reason. We have another remodel on the way, this time for Reaper Nurse. The model is essentially the stunt double Nurse that's used in the end of chapter screen for Chapter 4
Because Version 4 is almost done, I've decided I'll just release Version 3 and 4 in one combined update. As you've probably come to expect in the progress update message, Version 4 will focus on Crazy Carnevil stuff and the Creators DLC.
DD: Retro version 2.1.2 is released. This is a minor patch addressing v2 feedback. The following has changed:
-Steam now has a rattling sound added.
-Fiend's character icon is cleaner.
-All Monstrum tracks have sound effects to enhance experience.
