Deltarune Epic Edition

Update 11/23/2024:

I decided to just release the game as an experiment to see what would happen because I haven't really worked on it for the past year or two. It's a full hard mode for the first chapter (although a bit unpolished). I really hope the installation method still works because it was built for an older version of deltarune (I think 1.07?). Also, there aren't that many dialogue changes as most of the humor in it is meant to come from attack patterns and game design (might not be the best mod for you if you don't willingly torture yourself on at least a daily basis for fun), so I think I should probably say there's a secret item in the first box-pushing puzzle room that can easily be missed. There's also a secret route, but there's no indication for how to get it and I never added most of the changes it would make, so there's no point in going for it.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Just merge the files into your Deltarune folder. If you want to play this and normal Deltarune at the same time, make a copy of your Deltarune folder and merge the files with the copy.

Deltarune Epic Edition is a hard mode mod of Deltarune. The name is inspired by Portal Epic Edition. Chapter 1 currently features:

• Buffed enemy stats (the game is no longer interactive cutscene difficulty)

• Buffed enemy and overworld bullet patterns

• Buffed puzzles, ranging from real stumpers to literally just pick-a-path

• A crazy new Jevil fight (should be very hard but hopefully still balanced)

• A very unfinished secret encounter and route (don't even bother looking for it for now)

• 3 new items with unique effects

• Some altered dialogue

• Some changes to chapter 2, but it's barely been started so you're better off just not looking at it for now

But it will eventually include:

• The start of a full secret route (will continue to chapter 2 and get even crazier; I'll reveal more details about it later)

• more altered dialogue

• an even crazier Jevil fight

• more unique bullet patterns (some of them are currently just more spammy versions of old attacks, while others are actually new; I plan to make more of them new)

• maybe new music too?

Chapter 1 is currently available, but it may be a bit unpolished. Once I'm happy with it for the most part, I'll work on chapter 2 a lot more and afterwards I'll add the new route. I also have plans to add things like difficulty selection and skin customization, but those will probably have to wait until after the full release of Deltarune.
