What do you think?

Not bad! The game has a lot of promise and I look forward to seeing part 2. I had fun playing it though I might seem pretty critical in my video. I was trying to have constructive criticism :)

I don't think you necessarily need background music but something subtle would be nice. A background wind kind of sound or something.

This game is awesome had so much fun playing it :) i hope you enjoy my gameplay https://youtu.be/zOwHfwhXTPQ

I had a little bit of trouble at the start, but that's not a problem at all. I personally like hard platformer games. Everything is very smooth. It didn't say when you first opened the game that if you hold left shift a blue outline appears around the screen and makes every monster slow. I figured that out during the boss fight. It might be helpful to mention that in part two of your game, if you keep it around. Other than that, it's a great game.

I really enjoyed your game! It was pretty fun and it has a lot of potential!

Here is my take on what I enjoyed:

  • You have a pretty solid platformer here, the controls are responsive and so are the attacks and such

  • Very easy to learn and predict the enemies attacks

  • Solid foundation on something that can be greater!

What can be improved:

  • You should focus more on game feel. Add a bunch of particle effects for attacks, damage and pretty much anything. This allows for visual feedback on your game.

  • Add screen shake, this goes in par with game feel and adding a screenshake can help represent when the player get hurts or the player strikes a powerful blow.

  • Add music. I know you said that music wouldn't fit in your game but I would be to differ. You don't have to make a single looping song but instead you could look into making an adaptive sound track, that changes as you progress throughout the level.

  • Add an indicator to the enemies health, it's hard to tell how much health an enemy has without a visual presentation.

Here's a video showing off gamefeel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=216_5nu4aVQ&t=2s

Kill werewolves and one-eyed bats as the young monster hunter Victor Morgan.

You play as Victor Morgan, a 16 year old boy who reluctantly makes a deal with a demon to save his town against an attack from a horde of monsters..

You can use your crossbow or your sword to slay monsters in real time. You are also given the power to slow down time at your will.

This game has 3 levels and a boss fight at the end. The whole game takes about 15 minutes to complete.

This game was developed from start to finish in two and a half weeks by two students. We plan to further explore this world with Demon's Deal: Part 2, which will be the final installment.

Thank you for playing!

known bugs:

In Level 2, after speaking with demon, you have to "Jump" once before speaking with Timmy or the cutscene gets stuck.
