Looks pretty damn good for your first game.
Work more on texturing to make it look more appealing :)
The first step is to make people want to try it (first impressions from screenshots and whatnot)
Then you have to focus on GamePlay such as sounds, background music and character movement.
And of course the core of the game - the fundamental mechanics!
... Once you got all the foundation built and ready, you can start adding and improving! :D
... of course it's easy to write what to do - harder to do!
This was fun BTW I made a game just like this one XP except it was worse XD

Demons are entering our world. Survive and fend off waves of demons. Send them back to hell. This game is a 2D top-down survival shooter where you fight waves of demons.
