Detective Butler: Maiden Voyage Murder is the first game in the Detective Butler series. Originally released in 2013, we've added various improvements to the re-release for its Steam Greenlight Campaign

In 1962, a popular cruise ship goes out of business after the accidental deaths of two of its passengers. The ship remains a tourist attraction, until it sets sail again half a century later.

The CEO of a wealthy company takes his closest employees and son Gilligan on board for the maiden voyage. Gilligan happens to meet Detective Butler during the cruise, and as the two of them delve deeper into the ship's history, another incident occurs… Will Detective Butler find the culprit before it's too late?

Simple controls: left-click to advance the textbox. Right-click to bring up the text log, save and load, change options, and read the Journal. The Journal updates periodicially throughout the story, keeping track of information relevant to solving the case. By referencing the Journal and paying attention to the story, you can solve the crime before Detective Butler reveals the answer.
Features a seemingly-impossible locked room mystery. Based on player feedback, we've re-written many lines, extended the final chapter, and added an epilogue. Estimated reading time is around 5 hours.
There are nine CGs to be unlocked throughout the game, and a gallery to view them in at any time.
There are 28 music tracks, two of which are new to the re-release, and a gallery to play them in at any time.
