My name is Vince Wasgonton, I was a previous Sega developer back in the genesis era. I was part in the development of Sonic 1 from it's early days and during the 1990 Tokyo toy show.
I've recently explored around craigslist looking for a certain and I randomly found a old Sonic 1 Cartridge someone was selling. I took a good look at it and realized that this is one of the earliest dev builds of sonic 1 after the Tokyo toy show, the team had worked on this cartridge for a good while, mainly redesigning "Green Hill Zone" and Sonic's sprites.
The cartridge was then stolen from the office, and absolutely no one had no idea where had gone all these years until.
I had to buy it to finally get back something that taken from us for 20+ years.

I felt the need to dump this game online so people can play it, cause I don't want this to be "lost media" for any longer. But I did play it first and it was what I expected, but there were many strange oddities found on the cartridge that were not supposed to be there, things that had me thinking day and night.
I have put a emulator in the zip file for the convenience of getting one yourself, because this is the only emulator that was able to run this rom.
Slight warning:
This cartridge from what I can gather have things on it that may or may not be for the faint of heart, or may confuse you. I'm not sure if there's more weird stuff on this cartridge considering that the previous owner had this for many years and hacked it for the longest time. So, I'm sorry for anyone that is put off by this or is scarred by it. It's not my fault.
