What does it mean by dunk? i've manually held the balls and placed the min the hoops, that didn't work. I've thrown them in the hoops, THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER!

Destroy the giant robot by dunking on its face hoop. Dunking on the various other hoops will open up platforms to help you climb up there. Don't let it get to the end of the stage.
