You should fix up the bug with arrow keys not getting captured. It's not the chat, it's actually that all games need to capture the arrow keys and prevent them from scrolling window. How to fix: http://gamejolt.com/community/forums/topics/html5-games-scrolling/1545/
actually the concept is pretty good, but I lost enjoyment after a minute play. I don't know, it's kinda weird, sometimes it becomes slow motion, or reverse gravity, I can really control my shot, and so confusing. But since it's in development, I hope it will become something better than this. Good job, keep working
The pixeling is pretty sweet usually (all this paper stuff ruins it sometimes see), but otherwise, I found playing the game kind of boring. I mean, this chaotic power you hold really is irritating- you don't feel in control, and you die a lot because you don't really know what you're doing. This is no shit, but music (it seems there is none) would indeed be nice, with sound effects for the fighting.
I really like the art style. I think some value variation (as in darker/lighter tones) could help though. The second shot, for example, everything is the same value it's hard to tell the background from the foreground.
Anyway, keep it up! I love metroidvania games :)
WARNING: If the game doesn't respond to your keyboard, try to play from here: http://www.deconstructeam.com/games/exoelstrom/ - Game Jolt's chat wants the focus for itself :P
"The war between the pixel and the paper people began so much time ago that no one remembers the reason of their hate. But, a child born from the love of a pixel man and a paper woman brings hope to this eternal warfare. You are this child, a man now, trained by a metamage in the arts of chaos. Would you bring peace to this two worlds? Or maybe just..."
Exoelstrom is a Metroidvania Adventure game in wich you cannot control your own power. Use the randomness of the chaos and adapt to its consequences to progress trough a world full of war and mistery.
