INTRODUCTION
After humanity managed to create sentient vegetables, they quickly met their ultimate fate. Nowadays vegetables rule the world, and spent most of their time fighting for territory.
Choose your faction (vegetable) of choice, and slaughter your friends in this chaotic but refreshing Real Time Strategy!
HOW TO PLAY
Farmy Commanders is played in matches of 1 versus 1 (local versus). In a match, players will grow crops on a piece of farm land. Over a short period of time, these crops will grow into an army of vegetable warriors.
The game is meant to be played with a controller. Each player can control two armies at once, by using each analog stick to move an army around on the battlefield. In order to move more armies around for more advanced strategies, players can garrison their armies at outposts spread around the map.
Each army has three different stances: movement, offense and defense.
In the movement stance, armies will not attack but their movement speed is highly increased. The offense stance means that units of the army will attack anyone within their target. In the defense stance, units will move around slower, and will not attack. However, they will take a significantly smaller amount of damage when being attacked.
These three stances can be combined in numerous different strategies to try and take over the land.
CONTROLS
As of right now, two controllers are required to play Farmy Commanders.
Menu controls:
Navigate - Left analog stick
Select - A button
In-game controls:
Grow/harvest army - A button
Move armies - Left/right analog sticks
Change armies stance - Left/right bumpers
Merge armies - Left/right triggers
Garrison army at outpost - Left/right triggers
Return to main menu - Select button
ABOUT
Farmy Commanders is our latest project. It is a small project, meant to help us get a grip on Game Development, running a studio and publishing a finished project in general.
In Farmy Commanders, two players will engage in local versus Vegetable warfare! Players can choose from a wide variety of different Vegetable types, each with their own unique playstyle. A match only takes about ten minutes to complete, making it great for larger groups of people to play on the go.
The game is designed to be easy to pick up for any type of gamer, yet competitive in nature for the more hardcore types.
DEVELOPMENT
The current state of the game exists of a playable demo that showcases the core gameplay-loop of the concept. Currently we are hard at work to polish the games design for the best player experience. The game is being development within the Unity game engine.
More content will be added in to the game later on.
The game is set to release in 2020.
PLATFORM
Farmy Commanders is planned to be released on Nintendo Switch and PC. As for right now, PC is of the highest priority.
