Great controls. Cool concept, switching back and forth between different move sets.
It would be cool if there was a bit more feedback for your hits, or a boss health bar - so you know how much progress you're making!

this is likely to be the best game of the jam. graphics better than mickey mania with all the hd details youd see if it was made today. and yet it still feels homemade. games like this are why I like gamejolt.

Felix the Cat - Wonderful Clones is made by a 2 person team (me and my younger sister) in 14 days. An action adventure 2D platformer game with Felix the Cat theme, submission for Together Jam 2022. All hand-drawn 2D art and traditional animations. 1930s cartoon art style.
Characters, backgrounds and settings are inspired by Felix the Cat movies and TV episodes.
No frameworks or libraries used. All characters and assets (except for music) are made from scratch and within the game jam time frame.
About the theme, we interpreted the "Power in Numbers" in this way, "no man is an island". While it's possible to do good things solo, you can't do everything on your own.
The game has mechanics of character switching of Felix to access different magic bag tricks and requires you to think while you play fast paced. The struggles of working together is displayed in this mechanic and its rewards once you learned how to do it efficiently. Challenging, but rewarding.
This is the first ever action platformer game I made, so I learned a lot during the game jam such as projectiles, movement acceleration, boss creation, making AIs, and cutscenes. It was challenging since I only started learning game design development about 11 months ago (i.e. coming from web industry for over 6 years), so I had to watch tutorials and read lots of tech stuff during the jam. All is worth it after I've seen the results of our hard work.
P.S. I thank my younger sister who assisted me with lots of art assets for the game. Couldn't do this without her help, after all this jam is called "Together Jam" for a reason.
