Just played through the 0.3.0 version of the demo, and overall I really enjoyed my time with it. It was a pretty nice time and I thought the Plushtrap minigame was really cool, was actually very surprised to see how well it emulated the original game.
That being said the only real critique I have for the game would be the fact that the Nightmares are essentially just copies of the Classics, it would be very nice to see them be given unique skills and stats to make them stand out more from the original cast
I also ended up discovering quite a few bugs while I was playing through the demo, so here is a list of them:
- HP has no text used for it in the menus despite MP still using SKILL and TP using TECH. (This bug is rather weird now that I look more closely into it, it is something caused by the vocab script and is fixed by editing the 116 and 117 line to use basic(2) and basic(3) like the other parameters.)
- C Phrygian Mode Jam Track - Groovy! (BGM) seems to be absent from the game files, causing the game to crash entering an encounter in any part of the house that uses it.
- Bedroom Darkness (Battlebacks1) seems to be absent from the game files, causing the game to crash when entering an encounter in any part of the house that uses it.
- it is possible to move up the ladder located in Deposit and Attic, allowing the player to go out of bounds completely.
- Pressing X when interacting with BB opens up the shop for Equipment instead of exiting.
- The poster respawns in the Deposit after the scene where the Freddy & Friends Blanket is crafted.
- Tophat Slash actually hits three times despite the description saying that it only hits twice.
- Title screen says that the version number is 0.2 instead of 0.3.
- Nightmare Cupcake seems to be bugged since both of the events related to it (the one in the Attic and the one in the Closet) both use the "cupcakeattic" switch. This causes it to be impossible to recruit N. Chica if the "cupcakecloset" switch is chosen to be enabled instead.
- An odd bug during the Plushtrap minigame where the flashlight somehow stopped working completely and another strange bug where the minigame repeated itself after I had just completed it the first time.
- Rotten Cupcakes lack a weapon icon.
- After burning down the Closet, the entrance to it in the Main Hall goes from having it trigger from Player Touch to triggering from the Action Button.
- Guitar Smash does not remove the currently equipped guitar despite the skill saying that it will.
