Five Nights in a Nightmare: Childhood Fear
This game started as an old project that I began a long time ago, but I never finished it. After being unfinished for months, I decided to come back to it and finally make it playable. It may not be exactly what I originally planned, but I am happy that it reached a state where it can be played and released.
You play as a child who is home alone and must survive five nights. Strange things are happening during the night, and you need to watch the house and stay safe until morning. After completing all five nights, you unlock Custom Night, where you can much hardest difficulty.
If you find any bugs or have any ideas, feel free to write them in the comments, or contact me on Discord: houmreu
ALL CHARACTERS EXPLAINED (SPOILERS!!!):
Guy in the window: appears outside the window and slowly gets closer over time. It has three phases, each showing that it is getting closer. When it appears, the player must go to the window and shine a flashlight at it until it disappears. If the player ignores it and it reaches the end of its third phase, it will enter the house and trigger a jumpscare.
Alarm clock: from time to time, the alarm clock will start beeping. When this happens, the game time stops, meaning the night will not progress until the alarm is turned off. The player must press the alarm clock to stop the sound and allow time to move again.
Plushies: they will appear under the bed, either on the left or right side. The player must quickly check under the bed to see which one is there. If it is Freddy or Bonnie, the player must click on them. If it is Foxy or Chica, the player must leave them alone. If the player does the wrong action, or does not check under the bed in time, the flashlight will turn off and the player will lose the ability to interact with anything, resulting in death.
Guy in the hall: appears behind the player in the hallway. It first shows up behind the couch in the room on the right side. The player must shine a flashlight at it, and a laughing sound will play when it is hit by the light. After you leave the hall, it will immediately reappear in the hallway at the left door. The player must quickly go back to the hallway and shine the flashlight at it again to make it disappear.
Each character has its own timer that controls when it appears or progresses. These timers are randomly generated within intervals that depend on the AI level. The higher the AI level (0–20), the shorter and more frequent the intervals become, making the game more difficult.
