This is awesome. I'm generally not a fan of traditional RPG's, but I'm also a sucker for Picross.
I wish you could pick a female character, but other than that, I don't have any complaints. I'm excited to see the completed product.
"Frogspeed" made me chuckle, unlike the comment below mine.
whenever i get into a fight the frogs drop x's on the squares that i've marked, but because of that it's impossible to win any fight because i haven't filled in the correct squares, is there something I am missing or is it a glitch?
I've always wanted something like this, even if it's weirdly specific! This is great and I hope to see it get finished.
Interesting premise, good dialogue, "ribbiting" gameplay. As someone new to Picross I'd "Toadally" recommend playing this fun game, its quite "unFrogettable".
Frogicross Prologue
Overview
Frogicross: It’s an RPG. With Picross-inspired combat. And frogs. Solve your way through the world of Frogicross as you assume the role of {player name} on his journey to become a Frog Mage. Gameplay is similar to a traditional RPG, but the battles are replaced with Picross-inspired puzzles.
This is a demo/prologue build. If you're interested in helping out on the full game, send me a message or tweet me @bownly . (Especially if you can into spriting/music/sfx. Additional coders aren't really needed.)
Full game overview
I plan for the full game to be about 4-5 chapters in length, including the prologue. Each chapter will be roughly 2-4 times the length of the prologue. I already have all but 1.5 of the chapters fully mapped out. Depending on how long it takes to complete chapter 1, I may or may not shoot for an episodic release format.
