Getta Tenna is an iteration on the arcade game Pacman that attempts to add a more stealthy vibe to the game. In Getta Tenna, the player assumes the role of a boy or girl hooligan who has snuck onto the train platform and must collect fallen money to get onto the train without getting caught by the patrolling guards.
While many elements of Getta Tenna are similar to Pacman, a few are different. Firstly, the level does not end when the player collects all the dots - they must instead collect a sufficient amount and then exit by one of the four turnstiles in the level when a train is on the appropriate platform.
Second, instead of power pellets, which let Pacman turn the tables on the ghosts for lots of points, Getta Tenna has fire alarm switches, which briefly send the guards back to the guard house in order to turn off the fire alarm. While guards will not chase the player during the fire alarm, the player can still lose a life if they touch them.
In general, guards are much slower than the ghosts in Pacman when they are not chasing the player. However, if the player gets too close to a guard, that guard will start chasing the player. In order to out-maneuver the guards, the player has a sprint move, useable by the Spacebar key that lets them run quickly for a short amount of time. The player can also duck into the hallways with the staircases where guards will not follow.
