I gotta say i love the concept of this game :D
I think the controls needs to be tweaked a bit, also checkpoints are a necessary thing. I know it is on ~pre alpha~ and although i was able to finish the level im sure people will rage quit this demo, and well... If people dont play it whats the point right?
Also think that the puzzles are somewhat unforgiving and that could be a problem as well. Like if you use your boxes in a not so clever way, you have to die to reset the level and try again.
I dont want you guys to dumb out the puzzles, quite the opposite. But a way to stack up boxes to get them to higher platforms would enable you to try a different approach without having to die to start over. Also it is possible to slingshot a box over yourself and die, thats not fun. Obviously isn't working as intended.
I gotta say tough the game looks nice. Sound FXs are not bad as well.
Im curious about how it will feel when music is added.
Overall i think this game has a lot to offer! Specially once the creation and sharing of new levels is avaliable.

What was used to make this game because i have been thinking about making a platformer
It's soooo freakin hard. I mean, I like the concept of the game, but I seriously had to rage quit. I tried the game maybe 30 times? and never even got past the first stage! I got about as far as killing the 3 knights downstairs (which is impossible on it's own), then I went up, it's either go right to the hall of statures, or left to the secret area, I tried the secret area but not only did I die, it was blocked off. next good attempt I killed 2 of the knights downstairs, and flipped the switch that was hidden behind the box crate. Then I killed the third knight. I tried to jump over the spikes that would lead upstairs, but what do you know, the jump was too sensitive, I over jumped. The idea is great, but the difficulty is too great, there really needs to be some tweaking of the controls, this is probably up there in one of the hardest platformers ever, puts the original megamans to shame in difficulty.
A stealth/puzzle platformer with comic RPG elements, where you play as a goblin trying to escape from a team of greedy adventurers. Handcrafted levels with delightful pixel art and carefully programmed interactions: climb walls, hang from chains, push barrels onto the heads of your enemies, lure them into traps with the promise of gold coins…
You can now get the game on Steam (Early Access) :
http://store.steampowered.com/app/389190
Goblins & Grottos will come with a built-in campaign, starting with the death of your family and following your progress through dungeon levels until you reach the surface world and escape. While the adventurers level up and get better equipment and skills, the goblin does not. That’s hardly fair is it? And all they seem to care about is the amount of xp they’ll get by killing you!
A core part of the game will be the built-in level editor and online sharing facility. Build your own levels, share them with the world, and play other people’s levels! Define the traps, puzzles, and adventurers in your level.. define their skills and what chat they say as things happen to them. You will even be able to add a story to your level through the other creatures, scrolls and books you put in it.
We were greenlit on Steam after just a few days!
