The house and its surroundings feel different and French-ish. The new musics are also changed with that theme, reinforcing immersion and giving the game a different tone compared to the vanilla experience. Granny Is French is meant to be played like the original game, but under a new atmosphere.
It does not make the game easier or harder, it simply changes how it feels.
