The year is 1987. You play as Mike Schmitt from Hurricane, who is currently trying to find a suitable job to support himself. While looking through the newspapers for an easy way to make money, Mike finds a suitable job. He finds a job at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza as a security guard. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem; however, he has to apply for the night shift. Taking his chances, however, and needing to pay rent, he accepts the application anyway.
He arrives at Freddy Fazbear's and clocks in for the night, with some guidance from the main council of the building, Mr. Dave Millar. After which, Mike gets to work.
"It's just five workdays of watching stupid animatronics and occasional chores around the building. What could go wrong?" is what Mike asks himself, but little does he know, from information he gets from Ralph, a previous night guard before Mike's time, things are not going to go the way they should.
Now Hiring at Freddy's is a reimagining of the original Five Nights at Freddy's by Scott Cawthon, meant to explore the idea of "what if FNAF did actually come from the 1980's", while still keeping what made the original game iconic.
