The Return to Freddy's 4 is a cool game, an aura game even. Even though for the longest time I considered the third entry to be my favorite, the fourth was incredibly close, only held back by how rushed it felt, with things such as mostly vent minigames and a lackluster ending. Gameplay a bit less so purely cuz it actually kinda worked. Those may not seem that significant nowadays but waaay back then OWWW MY SPINE CRACKED that was kind of a big deal at least to tiny me. Thus, let's just say, I want to compensate for that.

I made it clear from the beginning that if I were to give another entry an "LE" treatment, TRTF 4 would be the first one, with a prototype of its gameplay being made back in 2022, the same year Legendary Edition came out. And despite the fact that between then and the time of this being written the amount of TRTF 4 remakes has jumped up, that hasn't stopped me from wanting to make my vision of the game come true since, unlike TRTF 3 LE, which was born out of there simply being no fully functional released TRTF 3 remakes at the time as to my knowledge, Legalized has a different goal, even similar to one of the original game.

Clearly, one of if not the main reason Tyler even made TRTF 4 is to explain "1 untold mystery in the TRTF series... Who is the green guy?". And then he proceeded to just not fucking do that thank you BFPFilms424. Yea we learn he dies in Golden Lockjaw, but the latter wasn't even a character until TRTF 4 nor does he really do much in the grand scheme of things.

Now granted, I'm not just going to throw like a dozen slightly different TRTF 5 cutscenes at you. If you're even remotely interested in this game you probably already know all about Grön. Nevertheless, I would say in this game he is as much of a main character as Blake is, arguably even more so, and I want this game to not only pay tribute to him, but also serve as a more climactic finale to Volume 1.

  • Night shift gameplay entirely recoded with a better spread of locker/steam usage and every character having unique quirks and behaviors to set them apart from each other and their original counterparts;

  • Asma meter reimplemented with the main gameplay majorly designed around managing it;

  • Golden Lockjaw having a bigger presence than simply killing you at the end;

  • Several bonus nights with different spins on the gameplay;

  • Expanded Nightmare Fuel and a custom night with a plethora of shenanigans;

  • A new set of arcade games mostly centered around Grön's story and based on various mini/teaser games from the TRTF series;

  • Old minigames and cutscenes expanded on;

  • an original soundtrack with over 40 tracks;

  • New additions to the lore and gameplay elements borrowing from both Oldlore.txt and The Dreadful Truth, as well as my own interpretations, all mixed together while refraining from retconning major in-game events (Gron still technically slips and falls into the Golden Lockjaw suit and dies in it, it's iconic);

  • A new alternate ending, as well as a more fleshed out old one;

  • Amnesia references!

  • scanlines!!

  • and various other surprises...
