What do you think?

Nice game, will done!
If you plan more games, you should reconsider the interface. Since I'm a veteran to this genre I had no big trouble to figure out the solutions, given the puzzles were quite logical and straight-forward. But for the whole playthrough I was afraid of facing a dead end where I've got to bruteforce ... that would have been really tedious due to the small inventory menu and the somewhat clunky ui. Even without bruteforcing, choosing all these different actions became a chore from time to time. I'ld recommend you to drop them, I doubt anybody would miss them! This game is carried by clever story and narration, a nice atmosphere and logical puzzles, not by Maniac Mansion nostalgia.

hi,big thx for the game. i love it :) greetings from germany

I really think point and click adventures aren't my thing, but I wanted to give this a try. The art and music are beautiful and for the most part the game follows some decently sound logic. I liked the allusions to the underworld, Lucifer, Charon, Cerberus and possibly Styx and the subtle environmental changes, it all added a lot to the creepiness and unease of being there. Enjoyed the fourth wall breaking conversations too. But, while I like that the game doesn't hold your hand, I couldn't beat it. There were a lot of useless interactions and the fact that your inventory gets so full by the end makes testing ideas a chore. I understand you shouldn't be able to brute force a game like this but it all culminated into a huge amount of frustration for me leading me to quit after a fruitless 30 minute clickfest at 95% completion. The addition of a simple "show interactive objects" would have gone a long way to alleviating that frustration for me if you are against using a hint system. Please understand that this feedback is coming from someone who rarely plays these types of games and do not mean to cast the game in any sort of negative light.

He's trapped in this mysterious place and wants to get out. Will you help him?

I Want Out! is a retro pixel art point and click adventure game, using a 9-verb-interface like some 80's and 90's titles. But it's also a modern game with state of the art effects! :-P

It's a short game that should require about one hour of gameplay.

Story :
The kid is trapped...
Why? He doesn't even know... so you've got to find him a way to get out.
Along the way, you may find the explanation for all this.

Gameplay :
To find an exit, you have to make him explore the environment and interact with it.

Some items can be picked up, kept in your inventory and then be used later.
You can then use them on another item, on an object in the room or on the kid himself.

How to play :

  • left mouse click : walk / choose an action / perform the choosen action

  • right mouse click : look at items

  • mouse wheel : scroll up or down in the inventory

(You'll find keyboard shortcuts in the help menu.)

The game is available in English, in French and in German.

If the game seems a bit slow on your system, look at the Troubleshooting guide...

Some users reported a virus alert with Avast. It's a known issue with games created with the software Adventure Game Studio hence it's a false positive. If your not too comfortable with it, do not hesitate to upload the game files to an online antivirus scanner.
