What do you think?

Historical strategies are sure a rarity on Gamejolt :) It definitely looks interesting - keep up the good work!

There is a manual on the website, as is also noted in the docs/manual.txt. The tooltips are unfortunately bugged at the moment but will be fixed in the next version.

I really want to give your game at least a 4 but I had some trouble getting it to work. I would recommend putting some instructions in the game. It looks like you already have done some of that such as when I have the mouse hover over something there are instructions, but it is unclear how to attack neighboring opponents such as the Gallic units to the northwest. Definitely add a short instruction manual in game that explains basic movement/building actions.
I think this game has much potential. The graphics are outstanding (though I recommend changing the location or color of the writing at the top of the screen since it can blend in with the black from the cities sometimes) and if it were clearly to use, and had a soundtrack, and if the gameplay was good, it would definitely get a 5. And yes, I do think if the gameplay was fun and the soundtrack was even adequate the game could have a lot of replayability and you would have a good chance of making money by charging to play an extended version of it. Good luck on your project, these sorts of historical strategy games are great, keep me posted on your updates!

Imperium Mini is a spin-off project from my main game development effort, Imperium. It is a small, quick-play turn-based historical strategy game that allows you to play through the rise and fall of the Roman empire in about an hour (sometimes less). Lead your legions beyond the confines of Italy, conquor interesting people, and see your empire fall to the migrating barbarian hordes. Vae victis.

This version is a work in progress, and is released for free. Future version may require payment.

Native executable file exists for the windows version; linux and mac users should use the jar file. Note that the default download is a jar file (which also works in Windows, if you've got java installed); if you would prefer the Windows installer, look under "Game Files".

Visit the game's website to read the manual for the game.
