When a person named David Brownfield gets a heart disease he has to stay at the hospital for 1 month and wait for treatment. But a failed surgery doesn't cause him to die, but gives him a symptom in which whenever he sees something dark, he goes mentally insane and gets flashbacks of a traumatic experience he though he got over.
